Building Bridges with Wales

The Chamber and the San Francisco Center for Economic Development (SFCED) met with the California Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-BIZ) director Kish Rajan, Wales First Minister Carwyn Jones and a delegation of leading Welsh businesses Monday to discuss international trade and strengthen ties between the Bay Area and Wales. SFCED Executive Director Dennis Conaghan was instrumental in arranging a number of visits for the delegation and in cultivating interest in a San Francisco location.

First Minister Jones announced the establishment of a permanent Welsh Government representative at the British Consulate in San Francisco to work closely with the UK Trade & Invest team in the city. “San Francisco has one of the world’s most famous sites with the Golden Gate Bridge and our presence here in the city can be described as Wales’ bridge to the vast West Coast economy,” said First Minister Jones.
