Global Study Places San Francisco Area in 2nd Place for Female Entrepreneurship

A recent study published by Dell found that the San Francisco Area ranks 2nd globally for female entrepreneurs to “start and scale a high-growth business”.  The United States hosts five of the top twenty-five cities with New York in first, closely followed by the San Francisco Bay Area, and Washington DC following up in 7th place.

Highlights:

  • Ranks 2nd for Female Entrepreneurship
  • Ranks 1st in Talent, Access to Markets, and Frequency & Value of Funding to Businesses Founded and led by women
  • Ranks 2nd for Operating Environment and Capital & Markets
  • Ranks 6th for Enabling Environments

 

The factors evaluated by the study were Access to Capital, Markets, Talent, Technology, and Culture.
