It’s Not Just Our Economy: San Francisco Is Also Nation’s Healthiest

The City of San Francisco has the nation’s healthiest residents, according to a new ranking from WalletHub’s Healthiest & Unhealthiest Cities in America.


While set health goals are key factors to health for many people, the city they live in could also play a role in their success. The ranking’s authors looked at 161 cities’ scores in the categories of fitness, health care, green space and food.

The annual list found that San Francisco also has the most running and walking trails per capita. The city also allows residents to be healthy by providing mass transit options and sidewalks to promote physical activity. Farmers’ markets, super markets, and eateries also make it easy and affordable for people to make healthier food choices.
