San Franciscans are working like never before.
The number of employed city residents reached an all-time high last month at 466,500, according to figures from the California Economic Development Department. That is 1,000 more San Franciscans working than when the dot-com boom peaked in December 2000 and the unemployment rate was 3 percent.
The 466,500 figure covers people who live in San Francisco and may work in the city or elsewhere.
Meanwhile the number of jobs in San Francisco also reached a new high at 623,000 as of December 2013, the most recent figure available.
