New Hotels Set to Rise in San Francisco

Two new downtown San Francisco hotels ready to roll.

New hotel projects are trickling back into San Francisco’s relatively stagnant hotel market.   San Francisco’s Planning Commission unanimously approved the city’s newest proposed hotel project on 250 4th Street in SoMa.

The 220-room hotel, designed by Axis Architecture + Design, will likely be a limited service option costing around $250,000 per room to build.

If it can find the financing to start construction, it’ll join another limited service hotel in downtown — the Hampton Inn on 942 Mission St.  The Hampton received approval from the Planning Commission awhile back and is in the midst of navigating the permitting process.
