San Francisco’s Population Growth Slows While Annual Income Rises

San Francisco is becoming younger and wealthier.

According to U.S. Census American Community Survey released in September, San Francisco’s population grew by 6,000 to over 870,000. Compared to previous years, the growth rate has been slower. In the meantime, the median annual income grew by $8,000 to $97,000, making the City the richest of the 25 most populous metro areas. Even after adjusting for cost of living, the annual income in San Francisco is $79,000.  And the median age of the City is now 38 years.
