SF’s 9-Year Drought of New Hotels Finally Ends

San Francisco is getting a flurry of new hotels after seeing nothing new since before the 2008 financial crisis.

Five new hotels are opening in San Francisco by the end of the year, some being chains, some being boutiques. The aim of a lot of these hotels is to tap into and improve the street life surrounding them, and their locations have been influenced by where many tech companies congregate. Even before the hotels open, interest is being shown by both individuals and companies.

Reflected in the recent expansion of hotels is the strength of San Francisco’s tourism market. San Francisco is a hub catering to both those visiting and working.
