San Francisco pulling ahead in the race for AI talent.
According to a report from Forrester Research, AI investment across all businesses is expected to see a more than 300 percent increase from 2016 to 2017 and global AI revenue is projected to increase to $36.8 billion by 2025, up from only $643.7 million today. While there is of course, growth in AI investment coming from big tech firms, other industries have bolstered their own talent in the field as well.
As the job market for AI-related roles continue to grow, educational institutions are predicted to shift their own resources to train the workers necessary for the economy of the future.
Due to the limited amount of talent available on the current market, this immense interest in AI technologies has pushed the average salary in San Francisco (the city with the most AI jobs), to more than $180,000.
