Large technology tenants now dominate San Francisco’s office market, with multiple huge leases inked in 2017.
Big names including Salesforce.com Inc., Facebook Inc., Alphabet Inc.-owned Google and Amazon.com Inc. did some deals, along with well-known unicorns including Airbnb, Uber and Dropbox. Only one tenant that made the list was not a technology company.
This year was close to matching a record for the largest deals in San Francisco, one that was set in 2014 at 3.74 million square feet via 17 deals. So far in 2017, preliminary data shows that tenants signed 16 leases greater than 100,000 square feet, totaling about 3.52 million square feet of space.
