Despite what recent evidence implies, the Bay Area tech sector appears to remain robust. A survey of developers, technical specialists, and analysts by the recruitment site Indeed found that 88 percent of Bay Area tech workers plan to leave their jobs, 12 percent of which have explored options outside San Francisco and Silicon Valley.
However, Indeed’s data are heavily skewed, given that the workers surveyed were users of the site’s premium job-seeking service at the time. Earlier statistics from TinyPulse, a workplace consultancy firm, indicate that tech workers still consider it highly likely that they will continue working for their current employer in the near future, though this projection is slightly lower on average than it was in 2015.
